Response to Gun Control

After reading my classmate's opinion on gun control in their blog, "Politically Inept? Not For Long." He discusses his view of this law and how it is unconstitutional as well as illegal. He brought up the Second Amendment and that the Founding Fathers had the vision of “protecting the types of weapons that the standing army would use.” Meaning that using or having a weapon is our God given right. The Constitution was ratified in the year 1795, this was 222 years ago in a different time. Guns have undergone so many changes since then, and I don’t think the Founding Fathers realized how much harm the Second Amendment would bring. The Second Amendment was meant to keep us from harm yet is has brought more harm than good. Guns are not meant for everybody, thankfully there are gun regulations made to limit America’s use of guns. The government that is in charge of these laws will do anything in their power to keep U.S. citizens safe from people that shouldn't have guns.
